David Yellin

Old and New Design - The New David Yellin Lounge

In this college, I was asked to create a space that would convey a sense of calm and tranquility for the audience of users, while preserving the historical narrative experience of the place as a gymnasium that was planned as part of the "Teachers' Seminary" in Jerusalem.

The space is intended for the student and user audience for lectures and cultural gatherings, meetings with authors, performances, and more.

The design language was based on original elements and objects that existed on the site in the past.

In this project, I integrated original objects from the historical past of the site and contemporary objects.

And in order not to compromise the authenticity of the place, I chose to use neutral, clean light fixtures combined with white glass, from the European lighting brands ZAVA and MILOOX.
